Oral Sex
The mouth offers a whole range of textures and sensations
- Cunnilingus: the partner uses his/her mouth contact to stimulate the vulva [lips around the vagina] and clitoris - [external genitals]
- Fellatio: mouth contact with the penis
HIV can be contained in the semen and vaginal fluid of an HIV-infected person, therefore protection should be used during oral sex. See: Safer Sex'
For fellatio, a latex condom with spermicide will provide protection.
For cunnilingus, use a dental dam or clingwrap to cover the vaginal and pubic area before commencing.
Oral sex is safe between healthy people that are not infected by an STD or HIV/AIDS.
Some may see oral sex as a taboo which may be rooted in religious prohibitions.
This is a very intimate form of sexual expression and should only be practiced if both partners are comfortable with it.
