Intention of sex therapy:
- improve the quality of the relationship, sexual response and satisfaction
- provide information about sexual function and dispel myths and misconceptions, and restore body image and self esteem, and help people to cope with repressed feelings that cause anxiety, and deal with past traumatic experiences
- give permission to explore and respond to erotic feelings and sensations and enjoy sexual experiences
- create a situation where both partners can express their feelings without shame, guilt or anxiety and each takes responsibility for their own sexual feelings and arousal.
