MUSE -[Medicated Urethral System Erection]

This comes in the form of a tiny pellet [half the sixe of a grain of rice] which is inserted into the urethra [where urine and ejaculation comes out] with a small applicator. It disolves into the spongy tissue of the penis and the penis is massaged and an erection should occur within 10 minutes and can last one to two hours. It is effective in about 45% of men regardless of the cause of ED.

Contra-Indicated for:

1. Hypersensitivity to alprostadil
2. An abnormally formed penis
3. Individuals advised against sexual activity
4. Conditions that might result in long-lasting erections

Side Effect Profile:

1. Priapism (small risk)
2. Vaginal burning in partner
3. Penile pain
4. Urethral pain
5. Minor urethral bleeding/spotting
