Causes:

Lifelong aversion
  1. negative parental attitudes
  2. adolescent problems with self-image [facial hair, acne, obesity)
  3. sexual violence, childhood sexual trauma (incest, molestation or assault)
  4. punishment for masturbation, sex play or intercourse
  5. forced or painful first or subsequent intercourse
Acquired aversion
  1. adult sexual assault, often associated with alcohol or drug abuse
  2. conflict about sexual orientation
  3. sexual dysfunction of partner
  4. fear of sexually transmitted disease/s or pregnancy
  5. dyspareunia/vaginismus [see: Painful Sex in Women]
  6. lack of love or physical attraction for her partner
  7. difference in desire from her partner, recurrent demands for frequent or unacceptable sexual activities
