Viagra - Oral medication for treatment of men with Erectile Dysfunction

Efficiency:
  1. 88% long term efficacy
  2. NB: Requires penile stimulation/fantasy
  3. take about an hour after a meal
  4. 57% effective in diabetes
  5. 80% effective after spinal cord injuries
  6. 76% effective in depression related sexual dysfunction
  7. Also effective with the elderly, prostatectomy (removal of prostate)
Contra-Indicated for:
  1. Anyone taking Nitrates (heart medication, also found in recreational drugs, eg.poppers)
  2. Anyone who has had an allergic reaction to Viagra may include: rash, itching, swollen face, swollen lips shortness of breath
  3. Anyone who has recently had a stroke or heart attack or has low blood pressure
Side Effect Profile: Side effects usually mild-moderate and transient in nature
  1. Headache & facial flushing - most common
  2. Indigestion, dizziness, stuffy nose, effects on vision - less common
  3. NB Should dizziness, chest/shoulder pain, nausea be experienced before/during intercourse - stop and consult your doctor.
  4. Prolonged and painful erections - seek medical assistance
Dosage:t
  1. 25 mg may start at this dose
  2. 50 mg [recommended as the starting dose]
  3. 100 mg if the effects of 50mg are usatisfactory
